Q. Can I just come and try a class?
A. We are a childsafe school and protect our children and quiet learning environment. All visitors need to be pre arranged especially with our Covid Safe plan and Government restrictions imposed on the business.
Q. How do I book a trial class?
A. You will need to enrol in a class with a $15 deposit payable. This will ensure we have space in the class and secure you a spot for you/your child (subject to the balance being paid if you choose to continue).
Q. Can I watch class? (Covid restrictions)
A. We will invite 1 parent to watch their child's first class. This is subject to density quotient, if your class is full we may need to arrange a different time slot for the first class to be able to invite the parent in. We will be in touch once you have enrolled. Please email us if you have any questions.
Ongoing (until restrictions are eased and the density quotient is removed):
To protect our SSD Community and allow us to trade, Parents are currently not allowed onsite under our Covid Safe plan. Dancers need to be dropped off and picked up for classes by 1 parent. This will be re assessed as restrictions ease.
If a child needs their parent, we will sign them in to the building. There may be a transition period for new children and this will accommodated with consultation with our staff & the parent...
Q. What do dancers wear to their first class?
A. We are happy for dancers to be out of uniform for the first class. Leggings and tshirt with bare feet are fine. Hair must always be tied back neatly off the face.
Q. Where do I buy uniform?
A. All items are available at Dance Your way- High st, Kangaroo Flat (opposite the Windermere Hotel). Closed Mondays. Open 10-5.30 Tues- Friday. 10-1 Saturdays.
Q. What do I need?
A. Uniform requirements are listed in our SSD Handbook which will be emailed when enrolment has been confirmed with payment. READY SET DANCE uniform is listed on the information pack and available in our online store (parent portal).
Q. Do we have to participate in the concert?
A. Our concert is optional, just advise us if you would prefer not to be involved. 98% of dancers perform and absolutely love their chance to shine on the Ulumbarra Theatre stage!
Q. When is the concert?
A. Late November-before the Christmas rush! Saturday November 27 2021
A preschool concert will be held towards the end of Term 3.
This is all subject to Covid and Theatres being open with limited restrictions.
Q. Do we have to make costumes?
A. No, we hire costumes to dancers for the concert at a cost of $33 each. We usually charge this fee in $11 instalments in terms 1,2 & 3. This year we will wait and charge costume levies when we have more clarity on the remainder of the year and Covid restrictions. Costumes are not required for Hip Hop classes.
Q. Do I have to start at the start of term?
A. No, its best to get started asap so we can work out pro rata fees if you start mid term.
Q. How long is a term?
A. The term fees are averaged out over the year. Terms vary between 8-11 weeks but fees remain the same. Ready Set Dance Fees are charged per week (paid in 1 payment).
